What Is a Home Open?

A home open (or open inspection) is when your property is opened to the public for a set time — usually 30 to 45 minutes — so potential buyers can view it without a private appointment.

What Happens During a Home Open?

Here’s how a standard home open unfolds:

  1. We arrive early to prep lights, aircon, and final presentation
  2. Buyers are welcomed and asked to sign in (for follow-up and safety)
  3. We guide buyers through if needed or let them browse freely
  4. We note comments, reactions, and interest levels
  5. We debrief with you after the open — sharing real insights, not just numbers

How Should You Prepare?

You don’t need a full renovation — but a little effort goes a long way. We recommend:

  • Fresh air and natural light
  • Clear kitchen and bathroom benches
  • Tidy outdoor areas
  • Lights on, blinds open
  • Remove personal items (photos, valuables, laundry)
  • Soft styling where possible (cushions, throws, fresh towels)
